Private and Collectible Asset Management
A Safe Harbor for Valuable Collections

Private aircraft, yachts, fine art, classic and collectible cars, watches, wine and other exceptional assets require more than careful maintenance. Their ownership involves complex legal, tax, technical, insurance, customs, compliance and reputational considerations across multiple jurisdictions and service providers.
Catamaran Family Office establishes a unified, owner-side management framework for private and collectible assets worldwide. We coordinate specialist advisers, operators and service providers; oversee the implementation of approved decisions; consolidate critical information; and give the Principal clear visibility over ownership, condition, expenditure, obligations and deadlines.
We do not replace licensed advisers, certified professionals or technical specialists. Our role is to design the operating framework, select and coordinate providers, compare professional opinions, identify potential conflicts of interest and independently oversee execution in the Principal’s interests.
Catamaran Family Office provides one coordination platform for exceptional assets across jurisdictions, categories and generations—preserving the Principal’s visibility, confidentiality, control and ultimate decision-making authority.

One Integrated Control Framework — From Acquisition and Ownership to Succession
Ownership Architecture
Working alongside legal and tax advisers, we design and coordinate ownership structures that reflect the nature and intended use of each asset, the family’s circumstances, financing arrangements, privacy requirements and succession objectives.
The framework may include special-purpose vehicles, holding and operating companies, usage agreements, separation of personal and corporate expenditure, delegated-authority matrices and decision-making protocols.
Structures are periodically reviewed to reflect changes in family circumstances, financing arrangements, asset location and use, as well as applicable legal, tax, regulatory and reporting requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
Art and Collection Advisory
Before any financial commitment is made, we coordinate comprehensive due diligence on the asset, seller, intermediaries and supporting documentation.
Depending on the asset category, the review may cover title, lawful origin, provenance, authenticity, attribution, technical condition, encumbrances, sanctions and compliance exposure, movement or export restrictions, insurance history and projected ownership costs.
Specialist opinions are provided by appropriately qualified independent experts. We consolidate the findings into a single decision-ready risk map, arrange secure document exchange and oversee the fulfilment of transaction conditions, settlement, transfer of title and completion of the transaction record.
International Accounting and Compliance
We coordinate accounting, tax and management-reporting arrangements for private assets and their ownership structures, engaging qualified advisers in the relevant jurisdictions.
Particular attention is given to source-of-funds and source-of-wealth documentation, beneficial ownership, counterparty due diligence, customs and import-export requirements, applicable taxes and duties, evidence of private or commercial use, and records required by banks, insurers, registries and other relevant institutions.
The objective is to maintain consistent, audit-ready documentation that supports ownership, banking relationships, insurance coverage, transactions and cross-border movements.
Privacy and Succession
Information concerning assets, beneficial owners, locations, valuations and movements is maintained within a secure environment with tiered access rights and activity records. Employees, contractors and service providers are subject to clearly defined confidentiality and information-security requirements.
We also coordinate the integration of private and collectible assets into the family’s succession framework. This may include documenting the Principal’s intentions, establishing usage rules and valuation procedures, and developing arrangements for transfer, retention, sale or division.
Records are organised to support continuity between generations and to provide family representatives, executors, trustees and other trusted fiduciaries with reliable information when required.
Independent Oversight of Asset Condition
We arrange independent, owner-side technical oversight for yachts, aircraft, collectible vehicles and other complex assets. The purpose is to provide an impartial assessment of condition, transparency over operating and capital costs, and timely identification of material risks.
Inspections are conducted by qualified engineers, surveyors, classification societies, conservators and other relevant specialists. We define the scope of work, coordinate appointments, assess the completeness of reports and monitor the remediation of identified deficiencies.
The Principal receives an objective view of the asset’s condition, a register of defects and obligations, a capital-expenditure forecast and a prioritised action plan in a decision-ready format.
Operational Management
Each asset is supported by a digital record, an obligations calendar and an expenditure-control framework. We coordinate storage, maintenance, logistics, insurance, inventories, valuations, condition documentation and interaction with operators and custodians.
For aircraft and yachts, the framework may include oversight of registration, flag or operational requirements, maintenance reserves, service cycles, crew or operator arrangements and the performance of management companies.
For fine art and collections, it may include museum-grade storage standards, condition reports, provenance records, valuation, conservation, transportation, display arrangements and cross-border movement restrictions.
Provider and Cost Control
We represent the Principal’s interests in dealings with shipyards, aviation operators, galleries, auction houses, custodians, restorers, conservators, logistics providers, insurers and other counterparties.
Commercial terms, commissions, referral arrangements and potential conflicts of interest are identified and documented. Material expenditure is approved in accordance with the delegated-authority framework, while invoices are reconciled against contracts, budgets and evidence of services delivered.
The Principal receives consolidated reporting on budgets, actual expenditure, variances, insured values, capital requirements and the total cost of ownership.
Insurance and Risk Management
We coordinate an independent review of the insurance programme, including coverage limits, exclusions, territorial scope, deductibles, valuations and requirements governing storage, security, transportation and use.
We monitor renewal schedules, compliance with policyholder obligations and the remediation of coverage gaps. When an insured event occurs, we coordinate documentation and communication among the Principal, broker, insurer, valuers, technical experts and legal advisers.
For critical assets, dedicated response protocols may be established for damage, loss, theft, detention, cyber incidents, title disputes or the failure of a key operator or service provider.
